The Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation provides young scientists with the funding to pursue their boldest and most innovative ideas to prevent, diagnose and treat all forms of cancer. Since 1946, Damon Runyon has invested over $300 million in more than 3,500 exceptional scientists. Their alumni include 12 Nobel Laureates and leaders of major cancer centers across the United States. Many have gone on to make breakthroughs in the way we think about and treat cancer.

In the inaugural year of the events in 2015, the fund donated a total of $500,000 to the emerging scientists at Damon Runyon. With this money, Damon Runyon was able to create four-year research grants for two very deserving scientists. These grants have been named The William Raveis Charitable Fund Fellowships.
